Review of Living Room

First let me review the overall color scheme. This is my first Direct Buy review, but that does seem like a good place to start. While I like the idea of a black and white color scheme, which this room does well, I feel that I would like this use of a black and white color scheme better if the words on the back wall didn’t form a similar striped pattern to the rug. I like the pattern of the rug and I certainly believe that the school house chalk board always functions as a nice touch for a room. The black couch, tops of the end tables, and the white walls also help to from the black and white color scheme of the room as a whole. Having a fancy ottoman is always a nice touch to add to one’s living room.

Other DB Reviews may focus on the kind of person who would live in a such a room. But for my review I won’t do that, since I feel I shouldn’t speculate about thing of that nature in reviews. Instead, I will focus on how I would feel in this room. I like having a Roman style couch in a living room since it’s good for parties. If you are at home by yourself at you’re just lazing around, it also functions as a very fancy ottoman. That being said, how useful and appropriate a Roman style couch is for a party depends on what kind of party you’re having. This one in particular doesn’t look especially Roman, and seems to have the same almost beach appropriate feel that many of the room decor parts have.

Speaking of the beach appropriate feel, let us discuss that element of the room’s design. The wicker looking stands of the end tables in between the two couches really add to that feel. Something about thatch and wicker just says “tropical.” The combination of the blue curtains next to curtain covers that look almost like driftwood is another thing that adds to the general semi nautical or beach like feel. Beige, white, and blue together create that impression, at least to me, and it’s an impression I’m quite the fan of.

Simple Home Office Design
